The new YAPEK educational center was created in order to improve the quality of personnel training for the largest enterprise in the region - PJSC “Slavneft-YANOS” and will take its place in the unified system of targeted training of personnel "school - college / university - enterprise", successfully implemented by YANOS with the support of the Department of Education and Government of the Yaroslavl region. Earlier, on the initiative of the enterprise, a specialized engineering "YANOS-class" was opened in Lyceum No. 86 (2018) and an educational center "YANOS-technologies" at Yaroslavl State Technical University (2019). The YAPEC Vocational Qualifications Center will provide additional opportunities for practice-oriented training for both college students and students of engineering "YANOS-classes".

“Besides, the Vocational Qualifications Center will become another platform for the WorldSkills regional competitions, which we are holding within the framework of the Education national project,” noted Roman Kolesov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Yaroslavl Region. - YANOS-Center meets all modern requirements and will allow organizing championships of young professionals in new competencies "Vessels in chemical technologies" and "Oil and gas refining". Also in the YANOS center, the company's specialists will be able to study and improve their qualifications, undergo vocational training and retraining, prepare for corporate competitions in professional skills.

On an area of ​​more than 200 sq. meters underwent a large-scale repair, specialized thematic zones and laboratories were equipped for researching oil refining processes: determining the pressure of saturated vapor of oil products, flash points in open and closed crucibles, studying the processes of oil distillation, rectification, etc. Classrooms are equipped with modern equipment identical to that used at YANOS. In addition, special workplaces for the operator of the process unit were created with the ability to simulate technological processes. The YANOS Center has also created all the conditions for holding a demonstration exam for graduates of the specialty "Oil and Gas Processing".

“The Yaroslavl Industrial and Economic College is one of the basic educational institutions that make up a system of targeted training for our refinery. More than 800 college graduates today work at YANOS, including heads of various departments. The new Professional Qualifications Center is the next stage of our cooperation in improving the quality of personnel training. We want the college graduate to be as prepared as possible for independent work, to have the skills to work with modern equipment, and to have production management programs. And we intend to continue to support the development of dual, innovative education that meets the needs of real production”, - said Nikolay Karpov, General Director of PJSC “Slavneft-YANOS”. 

The opening of the Center for Professional Qualifications in the field of the chemical and petrochemical industry is timed to coincide with the anniversary of YAPEC, which celebrates its 120th anniversary on November 26. State professional educational autonomous institution of the Yaroslavl region "Yaroslavl Industrial and Economic College named after N.P. Pastukhov" today is the largest educational institution, in full-time and part-time departments of which more than one and a half thousand students study. YAPEK is one of the oldest educational institutions in the region. The founder of the college is Nikolai Petrovich Pastukhov, a major Yaroslavl industrialist and philanthropist of the 19th century. For many years, the college has been a forge of personnel for enterprises of various industries, seeing as the main goal of its activities to preserve and continue the traditions of vocational education, to train highly qualified, competitive specialists in demand on the labor market. Since the start-up of the Novo-Yaroslavl Refinery (PJSC "Slavneft-YANOS") in 1961, the college has been training personnel for the enterprise. Since 2008, target groups have been working in the college whose students undergo additional training in specialties in demand in the oil refining industry and receive the right of priority employment at PJSC "Slavneft-YANOS".
